Women in Greece

1. How did women's roles in society differ from Athens and Sparta?
Women in Athens were more treated like slaves and they had a kyrios that was either
her closest male birth-relative or her husband. The women in Sparta were more free like because they can have there parents chose who they would be marrying.

2. If the Greeks are considered so advanced, so culturally elite, why do you believe gender equality (equality between men and women) was not established?
Because they didn't know better what to do and I think that Adam and eve came into there minds and followed what happened between Adam and Eve.

3. Based on your understanding of women in Ancient Greek society, how do you think women were depicted by artists at this time?
Well because that is all they can depict on at that time because they were going through so much and had a hard life with everything. All the women in ancient Greece were confused in my opinion because they couldn't make there own choices and the only way for them to have some time that could make there own choice is by learning through art.
