Suicide Bomber Kills 12 Soldiers in Pakistan

In the article I read on the New York Times page, i t was about a suicide bomber that killed twelve soldiers that were part of the local soccer team. It was really weird that two days before the twelve soldiers the President Pervez Musharraf ordered that a state of emergency because he is divisive when forming a better country victims suffered an atrophy to some of their organs and body parts. The tribe that did this thought they can usurp everyones freedom because they want to, but now they just caused trouble upon themselves. The suicide bomber was connived and wanted to do it just for his tribe and some suicide bombers are forced to risk their lives. Suicide bombers like to do it when it is not capacious so they can hurt more people and their was another bombing sight that killed two soldiers just two weeks ago. It is really sad that people want to be a suicide bomber and really want to hurt innocent people and you can tell that the people that are hurting these innocent people don't have any scruples for themselves.

I think the key messages to this play are that beauty can be anything and if even though you have people commenting you on how you look you shouldn't feel down. Like in the scene of Wanda saying that they need to take her breasts away because she has a tumor growing and her reaction was amazing. She did not want them taken away and in the world now a day’s people think beauty as having big breasts or big butts.
That beauty is different kinds of beauty in our way that we look at beauty. She is also saying that when it comes to looking good just be yourself or maybe a lot of conflicts will come up because you are listening to what commercials are saying or other people are saying to you.
Well in the beginning they all worried about how they look but at the end they look at them selves at start to change and start being themselves. Like Forgiveness from Heaven, she has a husband that has a lot of wives and she thinks that beauty is from her toe. But when she calms down and her husband is away she just starts to be herself.
The function between those two is really funny and they like to have fun when it is really serious. Well she is making the health stuff in the play look like the people are to dramatic and they don't care about the person that they should be helping. Like when it comes to finding a cure they can't find it because they had to shut down the clinic. So there is even more conflicts coming down in the pharmaceutical industry.
I think it works well because the whole play was really interesting and that she is trying to tell all of us something on this play she wrote and the issues in the play are really good. It is really real how they find solutions to the problems they have in this play. This play is really realistic and it shows you in word that if you are trying to change yourself you should just be yourself and that is beauty to me. Like Wanda, if she didn't get implants she wouldn't have a tumor too remove her breasts. All women in the play have a different style of beauty in the play but at the end it comes down how they think of themselves because they all have problems in there life right now.

Fairy Tales and Gender Roles

When I read this article, everything struck me because I didn't have no idea about fairy tales and stories about snow white would be bad to parents eyes. I think in my perspective about this article is trying to tell the audience that your children's toys, comic books, and etc could be sexual in a way. This is true because when you read comic books, the women that is a hero has a picture that has her having big accessories and she looks sexual. The men being hero like Superman being really big, and strong. Toys like Barbie have big breasts and little kids are playing with these dolls that have tights jeans on the doll and shows a big butt on the Barbie too. You might think that toys can't influence your kids but you might be wrong if you read this article.

Beauty vs Healthy

Both articles were really interesting to me because one talks about how people want people skinny and the other one is talking about being obese. In the skinny article it says that people want to be more skinny, but it says also that seventy four percent of the untied states are obese.

In the seminar I learned so much about peoples perspectives of how beauty and healthy is because we had different ideas that made it interesting. A person that would agree on during the seminar was mike because he said that before you want to be beautiful you need to be healthy first and that I agree 100 % on.

1. What were your gut reactions to this commercial?
My gut reaction to this commercial was really odd because seeing pictures of girls with some lingerie on was really true because some people see beauty as girls just wearing a bra and panties on.
2. What do you think about the central message of the commercial? Be specific and give examples to support your ideas.
The central message to the commercial was that beauty can be girls wearing lingerie and it makes people think and they know it's true too! Like some of my friends just think a girl is really cute because they saw her thong and they think that is really hot.

Malian Women and their "beauty" Epidimec

In this article that I read was really sad. It takes place in a country called Mali and women their like to bleach their skin to make it lighter. It is bad because it damages their skin and it burns. There should be a different skin care lotion that is more salubrious for women's skin so it won't burn. All these products are coming from Nigeria, United States, and Morocco and all these women are salacious when it comes to these products and it is painful. I don't know why you would be mesmeric when it comes to product that burns you and really painful. There are a lot of women that hate how they look like, but they shouldn't be so desperate to fix themselves because it even is painful to them. When women see products that could change how they look they are ebullient but they should know what are the ingredients that go into these products because they could kill the women that are getting them. This article taught me that even little country's that we don't know are sprung off of being embellish and they would even use products that could even kill them and make them look worse to look good!

Women in Greece

1. How did women's roles in society differ from Athens and Sparta?
Women in Athens were more treated like slaves and they had a kyrios that was either her closest male birth-relative or her husband. The women in Sparta were more free like because they can have there parents chose who they would be marrying.

2. If the Greeks are considered so advanced, so culturally elite, why do you believe gender equality (equality between men and women) was not established?
Because they didn't know better what to do and I think that Adam and eve came into there minds and followed what happened between Adam and Eve.

3. Based on your understanding of women in Ancient Greek society, how do you think women were depicted by artists at this time?
Well because that is all they can depict on at that time because they were going through so much and had a hard life with everything. All the women in ancient Greece were confused in my opinion because they couldn't make there own choices and the only way for them to have some time that could make there own choice is by learning through art.

Socrates Cafe

I have to say that today was really interesting because in our symposium we talked about what Greeks would do and what they believed. We learned more about virtues that Greeks made and how we can use them. Most of the people in my class talked and about everyone had good points on the topic because all of us thought we have the potential of having these virtues but how to use them. I wish I could of talked more because it was a really interesting and you just wanted to cut people off and start saying what you believe in. Everyone had there own opinion and that is what makes all of us unique and that's what makes seminars really interesting and intense.

Beauty of Youth

1. What is so beautiful about youth?
The reason that I think that youth is beautiful because the young and old is what makes a good life because we all have different ideas about different things and it makes life so good! We all are not perfect but most adults want to be young and young kids want to be adults. They all have that in them that makes the youth unique.

2. We know what "perfect" most likely means to Socrates by looking at ancient Greek sculpture and art and drawing inferences, but he doesn't describe this "perfect" human form. What are your thoughts on the idea of a "perfect" human form today? What is it in your culture for men? women? What are your thoughts surrounding those ideals?
My thoughts of a perfect human being is nothing because there will never be a perfect human being because there is to much stuff in this world to not stay perfect and this world right now will temp you and drive you crazy! This is not a perfect world and their will never be a perfect human being to me!

Beauty

Another thing to me that I think is beauty is the Northern Lights because it is so rare to see and you can only see them in Alaska. The northern lights have so much detail to it that makes it really beautiful to watch because when you look at it you might think it a painting with beautiful colors added to it. It is really amazing it watch and love how it covers the sky with amazing colors.

Well beauty to me is a panda because when it's a baby you see it transform into this beautiful, big panda that is peaceful and doesn't harm no one! One more thing about this panda is that you appreciate what this world gives to us and one of those things that this world gives us is this beautiful baby panda.
